Wordunya

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Wordunya mobile application and related services (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Who we are

We operate Wordunya, a word puzzle game available on mobile devices.

In this Policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operators of Wordunya. We do not require you to create a personal account to play.

Information we collect

We aim to collect only what is needed to run, improve, and secure the Service. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

  • A random device install identifier generated on your device (not your name or email).
  • Platform type (Android or iOS).
  • Preferred game language.
  • Approximate country or region (when available from the device or network).
  • App open and first-open events, and related activity dates.
  • Gameplay progress, such as completed levels and language progress.
  • Push notification token, language, country, and timezone information when notifications are enabled.
  • Technical request data that our servers may receive automatically (for example, approximate location derived from network headers used for country detection).

Information we do not collect

We do not ask players for their real name, postal address, phone number, or email address to use the core game.

We do not intentionally collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or payment card details through the game itself.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate the Service and sync progress linked to your install identifier.
  • Understand usage, retention, and performance so we can improve levels and features.
  • Send optional push notifications when you have allowed them.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Push notifications

If you enable notifications, we store a push token and related device settings so we can deliver messages about the Service.

You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. After that, we will stop using the token for delivery as soon as practically possible.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited technical data with service providers that help us host, deliver, or analyze the Service, only as needed for those purposes and under appropriate safeguards.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the Service.

Retention

We keep install, progress, open-activity, and notification data for as long as needed to provide the Service, measure usage, and meet legal or security requirements.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that identifies them.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us through the channels listed below and we will take appropriate steps.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information, or to object to processing.

Because gameplay is tied to an install identifier on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing app data typically stops further association with that install on your device.

You can control notification permissions and other device permissions in your system settings.

International processing

Our servers and service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When we do so, we take steps designed to protect the information in line with this Policy.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.

Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us through the support or contact options available on the Wordunya listing in the relevant app store, or through any in-app support channel we provide.

We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
